Flight School, 4 week Arm balance and Inversion series at Honor Yoga Pennington
September 12-Oct 3rd, 2015, 4 Saturdays from 1-3pm
Let your spirits soar as you take your practice to new heights! Arm balances can create a sense of playfulness and adventure in your practice. Inversions can improve circulation, decrease mood swings and enhance our immunity. But these poses are often the most elusive. Until now! Cathy will lead you in a 4-week series designed to remove the mystique around these postures by making them accessible to students of all levels. Students will learn how to activate their core and discover how the body needs to be positioned in order to take flight. Students new to arm balances and inversions will be given modifications; students already practicing these postures will learn new tips to go deeper. A sample of poses that will be covered: crow (bakasana) side crow (parsva bakasana), scissors & side splits (eka pada koundiyasana 1 & 2), 8 angle pose (astavakrasana), and flying pigeon (eka pada galavasana), L Pose, handstand, forearm balance, and headstand and more! This series is designed to build week by week. Come experience the power of flight!
(Students should be comfortable holding chaturunga dandasana and plank pose.)
$120 for 4 sessions. Drop-ins welcome, $35 per session.
