Flow is a style of yoga that links breath to movement, links poses together and uses a vinyasa (plank to chaturanga to updog to downward facing dog) in between sequences. This intermediate level class will build stamina, strength and flexibility. Prepare to engage your core, move your body with your breathe, and have fun in a safe and challenging environment!
Slow Flow (mixed level)
Slow Flow is a mixed level class that offers a nurturing tone and slower pace in the fluid style of flow yoga. Students will be introduced to intermediate level poses workshop style that will build on their foundation. Flow yoga is a style of yoga that links poses together, breath to movement, and uses a vinyasa- plank to chaturanga to cobra/upward facing dog to downward facing dog- in between sequences.
Yin (all levels)
Yin is a passive style of yoga that stretches the connective tissue, or myofacial network that surrounds the muscles. Each posture is held for 3-5 minutes. In more active styles of yoga, like flow we use dynamic stretching, or active engagement of muscles to stretch the opposite muscles. In yin, we don’t engage muscles, and by doing so reach the myofacial webbing that hardens as we age and repeat behaviors like sitting. Use this practice to balance out your active lifestyle and you’ll notice you’ll achieve more flexibility and greater depths of awareness as the long holds encourages you to go inward.
MASTER CLASS (INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED)
The class includes an intelligently sequenced yoga class, in a grounded pace, designed to introduce you to more advanced postures, including inversion time, arm balances, deep backbends and more. The purpose of this class is to provide seasoned yogis with a space for exploration and those with an intermediate practice to discover new postures and practices in a safe environment. Yoga teachers and yoga students this is your space to refine your practice and grow! You will discover new poses and techniques to advance your practice. This class happens only once a month, the first Friday of every month.
